Resources:

Alaska Atlas and Gazetteer - Highly recommended for orienting the Alaskan Adventurer! You can usually find this publication at local Alaska places like REI, Fred Meyers, and The Prospector.

Alaska Weather Cams - A good source for real-time, strategically located cameras, to help determine the go/no-go decision (or just for curiosity!).

Alaska Mountaineering School (AMS) - Anyone with an interest in mountain travel should check out these guys, with offices and store located in Talkeetna, Alaska.

Civil Air Patrol (Alaska Wing) - A good organization for the aviation and emergency services-minded volunteer.

Copper River Airmotive - Maintenance provider for Nunatak Air Service. Owned by Dee Wygant, a great mechanic and a great guy. Stop in and say hi if you're in his area.

Alaska's Cub Training Specialists - Owned and operated by the Baldwin Family from Wolf Lake near Palmer, Alaska. For advanced and specialized Super Cub training, Alaska-style, go see Jay Baldwin.

Golden Spruce Cabins - Enjoy the beautiful lodge-style atmosphere created by Patty Ryan and John Staples as you savor a delicious meal and cup of coffee from the espresso bar. One of my favorite places, and located in the remote Copper River Basin off the Edgerton Highway. ATM, convenience store, and of course (as the name implies) lodging is also available too!

Google Earth - Another planning tool and an excellent way to see Alaska before actually getting there.

Gulkana Fuel - Availability of aviation fuel can be a real issue in Alaska. Owner Dale Varra does a great job of serving the Copper River Basin, and even provides a pilots lounge, bathroom, computer with internet, and credit card machine for 24-hour service (Jet B and 100 LL). Located at the Gulkana Airport near Glennallen, Alaska.

Kaimana Aviation - Let Hank Bruckner of Oahu, Hawai'i take you for a flight in his CAP-10 aerobatic airplane.

National Weather Service (Alaska Region) - NOAA weather products for Alaska, at your finger tips.

What's a Nunatak?

What's a Super Cub?

Wrangell-St. Elias National Park & Preserve - Amazing...

Wrangell St. Elias National Park and Preserve: Backcountry Cabins - These cabins are remote, free, and seldom used.
